FOSTERING:

Do you have a tender, gentle touch?

If so please consider fostering animals in need.  Whether it's a new mom with litter of newborn kittens, a motherless litter of abandoned puppies or an adult recovering from a broken heart or broken bones, your love and support in your home can saves lives!

We generally request that foster parents keep and care for the animals until they are ready for adoption.  It is best if there is a private room or area in your home where the animals can live during their foster time with you.  Our staff will assist you in taking the proper precautions for your resident animals as well as the animals being fostered.

Some of our fostering opportunities that you can help with:

  1. Kittens, puppies and newborns in need.     With or without a mother and sometime just hours old at the time of rescue, to kittens and puppies who can eat on their own but need a home enviornment until they are ready for spay/neuter.
  2. Animals recovering from medical conditions.     Healing scars and broken bones often requires a long period of rest and recuperation, best done in a quiet peaceful home environment.
  3. Animals who are battling depression or a broken heart.    The heart break of adandonment can be traumatic!  Especially seniors who lose their homes and families in their twilight years.  Sometimes so confused and distraught they stop eating.
  4. Animals who need socialization and help with behavioral issues.      Some of our rescued animals have been denied affection and touch from people and other animals.  They have low self esteem and extreme anxiety in new situations.  They need a place to help them build trust and confidence in a gentle environment.
  5. Animals with long-term medical needs.     Heros are priceless for animals with severe birth defects, traumas and terminal conditions who need a comfortable environment with a focus on good quality of life and long term medical care.

If you think you have what it takes to open your heart and home to be a hero in an animals life please complete the Volunteer/Foster Application here!  Please let us know all types of species you are able to care for.
